I'm participating in the Rozelle Artist's Guild's upcoming exhibit, Project Sketchbook, and here are a few crappy digital camera photos previewing what is in store from me. I stuck to a theme of animal skulls. Initially I was going to just do cow skulls, but all animal skulls are interesting/creepy/brutal! Aesthetically I feel like I've already matured/changed art wise. I have more of a desire for detail these days, or at least excessive line work that phantoms attempts at being more realistic. Which I like. A lot.
PS I laughed when I scrolled down and saw like, the same image of a mouth with something hairy coming out of it. I swear to God everyone has to think I'm the weirdest person alive, or that I'm constantly tripping. |

...of what I'm going to do this summer! ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) monstersexual was talking about making a MONSTER BOOK and I was commenting on this awesomeness when I thought about MONSTER LADIES and how I want to do a book of MONSTER COUPLES. This is the first of a series of m/f, possibly m/m, f/f couples (it's mainly so I can show the boy and girl version, but there's nothin wrong with thrown in some same sex couples too!) This is all I've had time for lately thanks to finals. I also have a secret project I'm going to upload after monday that was done for school (so no one at school can see it!)
**Sorry about the repost, photobucket was like "WHUT BOOBIES???? NOT ON MY PHOTOBUCKETS". I don't think imageshack does the same, but I sure hope not. |

Finals week is kicking my ass. I only have really had time to do this, and a super secret project for school which I'll post up the images for after next week. I drew this during one of the 490439 artist research presentations I had to sit through on Friday. It's a native american harpy! roryann is drawing a lot of mermaids, so I picked another mythical creature fancy lady to draw variations of. I don't know if there will be more, but this is one! |

Whilst assembling a portfolio of personal works from this past school year for my review committee, I restumbled upon this comic I started last christmas break before I went home about a nymph stalking a mountain man. I won't say what happens, because I think I'm going to scan the first three pages I have finished and go back and finish the rest. Let's just say it's depressing and severely Fleet Foxes inspired, because I am a sucker for snowy mountain imagery and talking of the Blue Ridge Mountains, as that's what I grew up around.
Also, I'm keeping the last art trade entry constantly updated with the status(es) of each trade (my half), so if you're ever interested please keep an eye on it! (As of now, I finished atomicfiction 's and need to scan it tomorrow!) |

Issss anyone interested in doing an art trade(s)?
I was thinking just inked images, or digitally finished, flexible, it's not like one person has to do exactly the same as the other, as I would prefer to just do inked images in my sketchbook to help me practice brush lines.....but I thought I'd ask!
(I'm willing to do several right now, as long as everyone is flexible with how long it takes me. For commissions, I usually try to get shit done within the week (unless school completely takes over) and I expect the same for these, but I can't promise!)

I'm trying to make my monsters look more like my humans. I got a lot of compliments on my human art and I want to kind of consciensciously unify the two. I feel like my monsters were leaning into a style that wasn't my own, gaining little popular quirks and letting mesoamerican art influence me rather than let myself influence it and make something new. So this is what I came up with, and I like it. It's not a HUGE difference, and these were quickies, but I think it's big enough for me to feel like my art is finally unified. |

Sketched out Linh's high school bff. She doesn't have dreads, she just doesn't wash her hair. Ever. She's a punk rock hippie crazy tattooed pot smoking chick. Her hair came out like that due to the Lynx thing on the sketch sheet beside her, I drew him and wanted to draw hair like I drew the fur, and she came out. She looks kinda gross and homeless to me, but I like her. I thought she'd fit well with Linh, and I like their face shapes and body types next to each other. |

I watched the vector tutorial on youtube by the girl who did those super awesome left 4 dead valentines and was inspired to do a vector! Tecuhtli always bounces between being purple and blue purple. I think I prefer just plain purple personally! |
